Project 1
SENSORY GARDEN
The design is based on the five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste and uses different zones within the garden to offer experiences in each sense. A work area has been provided, screened from the main garden through fencing, which incorporated a shed and a greenhouse. The planting is all contained in hexagonal shaped beds, at differing heights, which will facilitate wheelchair based plant maintenance.

LARGE DOMESTIC GARDEN REMODELING
The property sits at the back of the plot, with the drive leading to a large area of tarmac outside the house, which was used for car parking. The client’s requirements were:
-
to provide alternative car parking for themselves and for guests;
-
create a welcoming entrance to the property;
-
provide screening from the surrounding houses;
-
create a useable enclosed space for entertaining and eating outside;
-
create defined areas for children’s play, a vegetable garden and garden workspace.

DAVID LLOYD BURTON WATERS - FEATURE GARDEN
To provide a low maintenance, attractive feature garden which would have interest all year round. The garden is adjacent to the outdoor eating area and is visible from the swimming pool, tennis courts, main lounge and patio areas.

Project 4
MODERN NEW DEVELOPMENT
This garden reflects the dark grey colours of the house and adds a sense of atmosphere with the use of a purple and mauve planting scheme backed up with a back drop of greenery.
The main feature is the two storey pool which is adjacent to the corner seating area. This is filled by three channels of water falling into the top pool, which in turn feeds the lower second pool. This movement of water adds a cool air to the garden and with the noise it creates is a welcome distraction to other noises. The colours used in both the construction materials and the planting add a sense of tranquillity and calmness.

Project 5
LINCOLNSHIRE SHOW
The brief was for a garden which was "achieveable", which would be suitable for construction in a limited number of days as a show garden, which was attractive, involved vegetables and elements of sustainability and which would provide an area, both indoors and outdoors for hospitality. The garden should also incorporate an eye catching external feature to draw people in.

Project 6
LARGE SELF-BUILD
The garden is for a luxury new build property, built of brick with ceramic black roof tiles. The building has many top of the range innovative features and has a contemporary feel, using stainless steel and glass balconies, although being of a traditional overall design.

Project 7
SUBURBAN BACK GARDEN
The client had recently renovated a 1930’s semi detached house on the outskirts of Lincoln. The renovation had a modern “cathedral” style dining room leading onto the garden. As part of the renovation a new garage was to be built at the end of the garden, for which vehicular access was required.
The client wanted to incorporate a patio area, a cottage garden, a vegetable garden and access to the garage. The garden and house is overlooked from neighbouring gardens, so some screening to provide privacy was required. The client was very fond of Italy and liked a mixture of contemporary and traditional styles.

Project 8
BORDER REDESIGN
The client wanted to have three overgrown and unsightly borders redesigned and there was a requirement to have low maintenance planting, with year round interest.
The first bed was remodelled to a horseshoe shape to provide a feeling of enclosure and to add interest. The second bed was planned around a large boulder as a central feature and incorporates a tree sculpture at the client’s request. The third bed is built around an existing mature Weigela and Osmanthus.
“Overall, we’re really pleased. All the beds look so much better than before and we’re looking forward to the plants maturing and seeing the progression. Lyn was very sympathetic to our needs and wishes”. |

BURTON - GARDEN FOR NEW HOUSE
The client is having a new house built on an existing plot. The requirement was for a garden which had a naturalistic feel, and didn’t feel ‘designed’, but which incorporated points of interest. The client also requested shade options and to make more use of part of the garden which was underutilised currently. |
