Our Team

Flourish Garden Design has two formal partners Lyn Gould and Cordelia McCartney. They also have a number of other colleagues who become involved on specific projects as appropriate. Flourish Garden Design was created because we love what we do and it was a great way to pool resources to provide a flexible, resilient and excellent value for money garden design service.

Both partners have a Certificate in Horticulture from the Royal Horticultural Society and have studied Garden Design for two years at the University of Lincoln. In addition both partners have a wide range of previous experience which is put to good use in the development of designs. Cordelia has a degree in history which is particularly useful in researching historic gardens and buildings. Lyn is a qualified project manager and accountant, skills which are vital during implementation of a scheme.

Cordelia: “I love being in my garden and I get a kick out of helping other people to get the same feeling in their own garden. I have been a keen gardener from a very early age and I’m hoping that I can inspire a lot of other people (including my sons!) to enjoy the thrill of seeing a garden develop”.

Lyn: “What excites me about garden design is the variety – there are so many skills needed – designer, horticulturalist, artist, quantity surveyor, accountant, agronomist, weather forecaster, builder, project manager, therapist .. the list is endless and it certainly never gets boring!”

And the best bit ....we firmly believe that gardens are special places, which offer opportunities for learning, healing and escaping from the pressures of everyday life. We work with a number of agencies to design gardens for the less fortunate members of our our community and any profits we make are re-invested into such projects.
